The Lord blesses His Word.  We have a promise that God's Word never comes back void. Awana is an incredible opportunity to reach boys and girls with the gospel...And, it is fun!!!

Not long until another new Awana year starts at Tignall Baptist! We're getting excited and want to share that excitement with you!!!  We start back on September 15th, at 4:45 p.m. We'll have a meal and invite all our children back...bring your parents, too! Clubbers invite your friends. We have a club for ages 3 years old through 6th grade. Tignall Baptist Awana has the BEST leaders and workers anywhere! They love God and what they are doing and want to share that love with you.  We have a lot of clubbers who'll be moving up to the next club. Parents, we need you to be here that day so that the leaders can meet with you and clue you in in a small way to what your clubbers will be doing in their club. I hope you will mark your calenders and make plans to be here. See you there!!

Awana is winding down for this year.  Sunday, May 5th, is our last regular meeting and what a meeting it will be! The 'Pie in the Face' contest has ended and leaders watch out...Come prepared to taste pie...We're not sure who the top verse memorizers will choose! It might be YOU!! We'll also have the store open. A very busy day!

Our Awards Ceremony will be May 19th at 4:45 p.m. and will be followed by a covered dish dinner.  The clubbers have worked very hard this year so invite your family and friends to come share in the celebration.  Bring your favorite covered dishes and share in a celebration meal. Sure do hope to see you here!

What a blessing the Awana Ministry Conference at Abilene Baptist Church was yesterday. A day that gives me the extra oomphh I need to get going! Our key note speaker was Rev. Brad Whitt the pastor at Abilene and his love and excitement for Awana was wonderful to see and hear!

Our Kick-Off is next Sunday, Sept. 16th! We'll have a hotdog supper and parents you are invited and highly encouraged to come and stay with your children. You'll meet their leaders and learn some of what will be going on during our Awana year.

I can't wait to see you all there!!

What is Awana?

~Borrowed from the Awana site. ~

Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.
As a ministry leader for over 60 years, Awana is making an impact. A recent national survey found Awana to be as important to our alumni's spiritual foundation as all other church activities combined. Among alumni who participated in our programs for at least six years, 92.7 percent still attend church at least weekly as adults!
Each week, more than 1.5 million kids ages 2 to 18 participate in Awana. Over 12,000 churches in the U.S. and nearly 13,000 internationally run Awana programs that change young lives through biblical truth.

Now a few words from me...

Where else can you go and have fun, fellowship, games, and most importantly learn God's Word with leaders and volunteers who love you...who love having fun...and who are learning with you, too.  Where else can you go and have giggles about silly adults who will let you put pies in their face, put make-up on your male leaders face, decorate them like a Christmas tree, let you squirt them with mustard and ketchup, and so much more!

At Tignall Baptist we take learning about God and learning Scriptures seriously.  Every week the clubbers are led in a Bible study and the Salvation plan is shared --EVERY WEEK!

Now...what can you do? Make sure you bring your children each week.  Invite their friends. Study with them each week so that they can learn the verses. Ask them questions. You'll be surprised at how much you will learn right along with your children.  Make sure they wear tennis shoes so that they'll be safe in game time. Make sure they bring their Bible and if they don't have one let their leader know and we'll be happy to get them one.

Your children will be in a safe, friendly, loving atmosphere. They will have trained leaders who love them and enjoy them.

Please plan to bring your children and any other children you know to our first Awana meeting of our new year - Sept. 16, at 4:45 p.m. till 6:15 p.m.  We have a club for ages 3 thru 8th grade.

See you there!

Leaders, volunteers...Our Awana Training Conference is on September 8 at Abilene Baptist Church in Augusta.  I hope you'll be able to go.  We always get wonderful information and training at the Conference and it gives you that ooomphhh that you need to start a new year.  Let me know as soon as possible if you can go.  Thanks for your love and dedication to helping our children know, love, and serve him!
